Biography:

I began my professional career as the Extension Educator for Ag and Natural Resources at OSU Extension in Fairfield County, followed by 6 years with the Ohio Farm Bureau, and joined Sandusky County Extension in November 2013.  I also serve as Treasurer of the Ohio Angus Association, as an Ottawa County 4-H advisor and Jr. Fair Beef superintendent, and my family farm near Graytown raises grain, hay, and registered Angus cattle.

I received my Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, and master’s degree in Agricultural Education from the Ohio State University.  My research interests in my extension work include vegetable and forage production, and beef cattle reproductive physiology.  This year I conducted variety trials for peppers, sweet corn, and cabbage at the North Central Agricultural Research Station, and will include findings in my winter programming, along with topics on agronomy, forage production, and pesticide/fertilizer application.  I also give leadership to the Master Gardener program, chair the research station advisory committee, and judge beef shows at several county fairs around Ohio.

My wife Susie is a 4th grade teacher at Genoa Elementary, and we have 4 children – triplets Lilly, Addison, and Griffin and their younger sister Carrie.
